IHSS can help eligible people who are older, blind, or disabled stay safely at home. CDSS says you must be a California resident, have a Medi-Cal eligibility determination, live at home, and submit a health care certification. A county social worker interviews you at home. CDSS says you apply by sending an application to your county IHSS office.
Next step
Read the IHSS page, then contact your county IHSS office and ask how to submit the application.
CDSS keeps a page of county IHSS program websites for every county. A few county sites do not spell out IHSS, and CDSS says to use the link to find the social services office. The same page lists an IHSS Service Desk for providers and recipients at (866) 376-7066 for timesheet questions.
Next step
Open your county on the CDSS list and ask that office how to apply or how to reach your worker.
