Information we collect
You give us a newsletter email, and anything you type into a form. [CONFIRM: is there any user account or login? Draft assumes none.]
We also get basic logs from our host [CONFIRM: hosting provider, e.g. Vercel] and analytics [CONFIRM: tool, e.g. Vercel Web Analytics, Plausible, or Google Analytics, and whether it sets cookies].
Please don't send us health information. Searching or browsing the directory does not require you to tell us about any disability. [CONFIRM: are search queries logged?]

Your California (and other state) privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may ask to know, access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to opt out of sale or sharing (we don't sell or share). We won't discriminate against you for using these rights. Email [CONFIRM: privacy contact email] with your request. We'll verify it by matching your email and respond within 45 days. An authorized agent may make a request with your signed permission.
Note: the CCPA's full obligations apply only to businesses that meet its thresholds. A small site may fall below them. We honor these requests anyway, as good practice.
You can unsubscribe from any email using the link in it. See our Newsletter terms.

Security
We use reasonable safeguards, but no method of transmission is 100% secure.

We'll post updates here and change the date above.

What this version of the site does today
This note describes the site as it works today. It is not part of the draft policy.
Hosting
This site is published at https://disabilityhelpfinder.com.
Analytics
A first-party log counts page views, guide clicks, listing clicks, search words, newsletter signups, sponsor page visits, and tool events. A tool event records only an allowlisted tool name. It does not record a date, a checklist, or an answer. The log does not set a cookie, does not store an IP address, and does not use an ad pixel. A search that looks like an email address or a phone number is counted without saving those words. If the database is not connected, the count is skipped.
Cookies
The app does not set cookies. There is no advertising cookie and no analytics cookie.
Forms
Newsletter signups are closed until email sending is turned on. Until then the site says Signups open soon and does not ask for an email. When signups are open, we save the email address, any topics you check, and California, Texas, or another state if you choose one. Asking for a kit saves which kit you chose and emails a download link when that file is posted. We do not ask your name or about a disability. The guides and checklists stay on the site with no email. The per-state notify form still does not send or save what you type. Plan checks, qualify answers, the appeal notice date, and topics you follow on What's new stay on this device. We do not receive them. A tool event records only an allowlisted tool name and does not record a date, a checklist, or an answer. The phone script stays in the browser. Bookings open soon. An early-sponsor signup saves the email address you enter so we can write when bookings open. A guide or listing note saves the page address, whether the page helped, an optional comment, and a broken-link note if you send one. It does not ask for your name.
Data collected
Directory browsing does not ask about a disability and does not build a user profile. The first-party log stores a page path, a click target, search words, or an allowlisted tool name. It does not store an IP address, a cookie, a notice date, a checklist, or a qualify answer. Plan checks, qualify answers, the appeal date, and followed topics stay on the device. A newsletter signup, once signups are open, saves an email address and the optional topics and state you choose. A kit request also saves which kit you asked for. An early-sponsor signup saves an email address. A guide or listing note saves the page address and the note. A paid sponsorship, after payment is confirmed, stores the business contact and placement details for that order.
Trackers
No ad pixels, tag managers, or other third-party trackers. The typeface is self-hosted with the app.
